Volunteer Drivers Are A Life-Changing Gift
Mileage Reimbursement .55/mile
Imagine living alone, not being able to drive and not being able to access public transportation. Our Volunteer Drivers are a life-changing gift and are the heart of this organization. They create access for home-bound seniors and make it possible for them to participate in society.
Community Partners in Caring is looking for Volunteer Drivers that will provide 1:1 transportation for homebound seniors living in our community. The hours are flexible: volunteer two hours per month or two hours per week any time/day of the week. We also provide mileage reimbursement at a rate of .55 cents per mile. This rate is effective June 1, 2017 and ends June 30, 2020 or 30 days after notification of reduced state funding.
Most of the seniors we serve are frail, but not disabled; they live alone, do not have family/friends to help, are not ADA eligible and cannot access public transportation. By volunteering with us, you’ll be helping to ensure our elderly have the support they need to live independently while maintaining dignity, respect, and quality of life. Requirements and Commitment
This type of volunteer work requires excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to convey emotions, especially compassion, while maintaining a cheerful, upbeat demeanor. You will be entering transportation rides into our transportation management system, which is very easy to learn. All volunteers are required to have their own transportation, own their own cars, pass a background check, carry auto insurance, and have a clean DMV record.
