- Does not provide coverage for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT). May provide coverage for limited, medically necessary, non-emergency medical transportation, if there is a written doctor’s order, stating that ambulance transportation is medically necessary.
- Example: to a dialysis facility for End Stage Renal Disease.

- Must be enrolled in the coverage. Generally low income and Medi-Cal eligible participants. Might qualify as supplemental Medicare coverage.
- Does provide NEMT, if you are not able to get to your appointment by car, bus, train or taxi, and the plan pays for medical or physical condition. You need to request the service through your doctor who can prescribe the type of transportation needed for your condition.
- Needs to be approved in advance by Cen-Cal
- Does provide non-medical transportation (NMT)
- Applies when traveling to/from a covered medical service authorized by your health care provider, or when picking up prescriptions and medical supplies.
