Seeing Vaccination Take Place County-wide

The Health Officer for Santa Barbara has issued up-to-date information for getting a vaccine appointment locally.  The recent points of distribution include the sites listed below, Dignity Health, of which Marian Hospital (Santa Maria) is a site, and some pharmacies. Call 2-1-1 if you need assistance getting an appointment, or the transportation to make it to your appointment.

The recent Department of Public Health locations are

Allan Hancock College (Community Education bldg.) 800 S College Dr, Santa Maria, CA 93454

Veterans Memorial Hall 100 E Locust Ave, Lompoc, CA 93436

Wake Center at Santa Barbara City College 300 N Turnpike Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93111

And will likely include the Earl Warren Showgrounds and other large venues, in the coming weeks, as more vaccination supply is made available in the next tier of distribution.

Even though the State of California recently announced COVID 19 vaccination for those 65 and older, as Santa Barbara County has s a limited supply of vaccine from the State and appointments fill up very quickly, frontline healthcare workers and those over 75 years of age are being vaccinated currently. Even if you are in these categories, you will likely need to wait for an appointment. If you are not currently eligible for a vaccine, please do not make an appointment. Bring to the appointment: Photo ID and proof of Santa Barbara County residence (maybe Photo ID)
